Pete Lattimer's Wrist Watch in Warehouse 13

In season 3 episode 7 of Warehouse 13, Myka is chasing her old partner’s killer and weird things keep happening with the time; things are occurring much faster than they should be able to, and Myka & Pete compare the time on their watches only to find out that time had moved differently for them. That’s where we get this great close up of Pete’s watch.

The watch appears to be a BREITLING BLACKBIRD Ref #A44359, but it seems to be a fake.

The first giveaway is the date wheel which is white. I was unable to locate any model of the blackbird which had a black dial, black sub dials, and a white date wheel.

The second giveaway is the subdial. At 3:00 Pete’s watch has a 12 hour register but the real Breitling has a running seconds hand. At 6:00 Pete’s watch has a 24 hour register while the real Breitling has a 12 hour register. And finally at 9:00 Pete’s watch has some weird subdial which goes from 1-7, while the real Breitling has a 30 minute chronograph register.

In conclusion it wants to be a Breitling Blackbird, but it’s a fake.

Patrick Wilson's Wrist Watch in Moonfall (2021)

In the Roland Emmerich film Moonfall from 2021 the moon is going to impact Earth and Patrick Wilson is one of the 3 people sent on a ship to attempt to destroy an entity that is living in the moon. They have to time a few burns and because of that we get a really great close of Patrick Wilson’s wrist watch.

It’s clearly the Omega Speedmaster Professional, and on the Tachymeter the dot is not over 90, so I believe this is the prior generation of Speedmaster, the 311.30.42.30.01.005.

I’m being this one because Patrick Wilson plays an astronaut, so I’m assuming he has the hesalite model as opposed to the sapphire sandwich.

Sonya's Wrist Watch in Mortal Kombat (1995)

When everyone first arrives on the tournament island Sonya throws away her phone thinking that it’s broken, but Liu Kang points out that everything is messed up and tells her to look at her compass. Then we get a close up shot of her wrist and see that she’s wearing a watch that has a compass if you flip it open. If we look at the rear of the case when she flips it open we can see the model number barely. This is the CASIO MW-43.

This watch is long since discontinued and I found one ebay listing that sells them for $300 each. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144052058512

Dwight Schrute's Wrist Watch in The Office

In season 2, episode 4 of The Office at 20:18 in, we see Dwight Schrute grabbing Ryan Howard’s neck while berating him for setting the fire in the office and we get a really great look at his watch.

It’s obvious that it’s a Casio Calculator watch, but which one? It just so happens that I wore (and still have) this exact model. It is the CASIO DBC-30. Unfortunately that watch has been discontinued and they now have the current DBC-32 or the classic calculator watch which is the CA-53W.

Trent's Wrist Watch in Old (2021)

In the 2021 thriller movie OLD, Trent is played by multiple actors who play him from age 6 up through age 50. The wrist watch that he wears in this movie is easily identifiable as the FREESTYLE USA SHARK WATCH. This watch is customizable on Freestyle USA’s website, but this appears to be a stock setup called BLACK NEON.

Bill Pullman's Wrist Watch in The Serpent and the Rainbow

In the movie The Serpent and the Rainbow, Bill Pullman wears the Seiko 6923-7109 AO Sports 100. This was ID’d with the help of r/watches. I had never seen this type of integrated bracelet, and the real unique thing is the bezel being a dive time bezel but also have a compass function with the cardinal directions.

Here are some links:

Josh Brolin's Wrist Watch in No Country for Old Men

What is Llewelyn’s (or Josh Brolin’s) wrist watch in No Country for Old Men?

We get a pretty good shot of Llewelyn’s wrist watch when he is tracking the last living drug dealer and he’s spotting him in the shade of tree. The watch is the Timex Camper T41711. The watch reads Timex on the first line, Quartz on the second line. And then above the 6 you have waves to indicate water resistance, however, the amazon listing says it’s only 30M which is only splash proof. The hour and minutes hand are stick hands and the seconds hand is a lollipop.

John Connor’s Wrist Watch in Terminator 2

When John is prodding Terminator’s bullet hole riddled back following after being saved from the T-1000, we get a pretty good shot of his watch. After a bit of digging it appears to be the ROTHCO FIELD WATCH (https://www.rothco.com/product/rothco-field-watch).

The case shape and crown look idetnical, the seconds hand is the same, and the printing on the dial is accurate as well. The only thing that appears to differ from the current available Rothco Field watches is the finish of the case. John’s watch looks like a high polish stainless steel while Rotcho only appears to offer an Olive Drab or Black case option.

Other than that, that’s the watch.

Nicholas Cage's Wrist Watch in National Treasure

What wrist watch does Nicholas Cage wear in National Treasure?

It’s a Rolex Submariner ref. 16610 if that’s all that you’re looking for. Here’s a link to what you need to know about this watch: https://swisswatchtrader.co.uk/blogs/news/rolex-submariner-16610

This watch plays a big part in the movie in two parts. First part is when he needs a $100 bill, so he lends the cashier his watch as collateral and then looks at the back and sees that the clock says 2:22 and realizes that the need to get to the next location by 2:22pm.

The second part comes right afterwards where he looks at his watch and realizes that it’s 3:00 pm. But then his sidekick tells him about daylight savings time, so they still have a few minutes to get to the location.

That’s it. It’s a fun adventure movie about a guy looking for treasure and in the end getting the girl. It’s in very similar vain as The Mummy as well as Indiana Jones.

Nancy's Wrist Watch in A Nightmare on Elm Street

We get a really great up close shot of Nancy’s wrist watch while she is setting the alarm to go off in 10 minutes and wake her up from her dream while holding on to Freddy. That way they can try to kill him in the real world.

Anyway, the watch is a Lorus digital watch, and after a very quick search I have landed on the Lorus W207-5010, and here’s an e-bay auction I found for this specific watch: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165319294401

This watch seems to offer pretty standard digital watch functionality with the time, day of the week, alarm, and stop watch. It also has the Water Resistant logo near the bottom of the dial, and I’m assuming this means 30M of water resistance just like the casio WR labeling.

Peter Neal's Wrist Watch in Tenebrae

Tenebrae is a giallo film from Dario Argento and you can check the trailer above. I still haven’t watched this movie because I got distracted by the watch less than 30 minutes in. But after ID-ing the watch it makes perfect sense. Peter Neal is an author who goes to visit Rome on a press tour. While he’s traveling he’s wearing a Rolex Pepsi GMT Master. Without further information it’s very difficult to tell which GMT it is.

A quick google search tells us that Tenebrae was filmed in May of 1982. This means we can rule out the GMT Master II which did not come out until 1983. Then we have to determine with GMT Master I this watch is and looking at my incredibly low quality photo of my screen, I believe that it has more pointed crown guards instead of rounded crown guards. This leads me to believe that this is the ref. 16750 GMT Master I.

Billy Bob Thorton's Wrist Watch in Bad Santa

It’s Christmas time and that means it’s time to rewatch Bad Santa for the 100th time. I never paid attention to the watches until this year. At the beginning it’s hard to ID the exact watch that Billy Bob (Willie) is wearing, but it looks like some kind of cheap Timex. Then after the first job when he shows up in Phoenix, he’s wearing a Rolex.

This one is quite hard to ID for me. Mainly because I can’t get a good screencap of the watch (cursed DRM). Based on the photos it’s clear the watch is on a president bracelet, it’s clear that it has a day and date, and the indexes appear to be diamonds.

The closest that I found was a Rolex Day Date ref. 18238 which is a black dial, has diamond indecies and a day date. The one thing that I’m not 100% sure on is the bracelet. In the film it looks like it’s a two tone bracelet but I’m not able to find a watch face that matches the one in the film that also has a two tone bracelet. So maybe I’m wrong.

John Candy's Wrist Watch in Uncle Buck

I hadn’t seen this movie in well over a decade. It is amazing. You need to watch this movie, and if have nieces or nephews you need to be like Uncle Buck.

Anyway, we get a nice wrist shot of our favorite gambling uncles wrist and it’s clearly a gold watch with a cyclops on it and a presidential bracelet and what looks like a day at 12:00. That makes it the Rolex Day Date 36, I believe the 18238. This reference should have been out in the 80’s which would make sense for this film.

That’s the answer: Rolex Day Date 36 Ref. 18238

Del Griffith's Wrist Watch in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

In the past I was mistaken in thinking that the watch Del Griffith, played by John Candy, in Planes Trains and Automobiles was the Casio A158. Upon further research, it appears that this is the Casio A159.

The main difference between between the A158 and A159 are the bracelet. The 158 has more of an h-link style bracelet while the A159 has a 5 piece bracelet that apparently does not have as much adjustability.

Neal Page's Watch in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

It’s Thanksgiving time and you know what that means, Planes Trains and Automobiles. I had noticed the casio on previous viewings, but on this rewatching of the movie, I noticed a great close up of Steve Martin’s watch while he’s waiting to get out of a meeting.

Turns out this is a well ID’ed watch, the PIAGET POLO 8673, which is a really small 31mm quartz watch in 18 karat gold. The stand out thing about this watch is the thickness. It’s only 5mm and I’m assuming that was the big selling point when it was originally released.

Jared Svenning's Watch in Mallrat's

Mallrat’s is probably the movie I’ve watched the most and I’ve also tried to ID the watches. I’m still unable to ID any watches besides Jared Svennings watch.

It’s a stainless steel sports watch with a white dial with a crown and two pushers indicating it’s a chronograph. You also have three subdials which are white with a silver outline. You can also see multiple lines of text and what looks like a crown at 12:00. With this information it’s pretty simple to ID.

This is the Rolex Daytona 116520.

This makes perfect sense given the fact that he is a television executive and this is a relatively flashy watch.

Erlich Bachman Watch in Silicon Valley

What is Erlich Bachman’s (TJ Millers) watch in Silicon Valley? While starting a rewatch of Silicon Valley I noticed that Erlich wears a fairly nice watch. It’s clear that it’s a Rolex submariner, but in some shots it looks like it has a green bezel and green dial, but in others it is clear that it has a green bezel and a green dial which would make this Ref #116610LV, or The Hulk.

The Front Man's Watch from Squid Game

unbrightened

brightened

In episode 7 of Squid game titled VIPs, we get a look at The Front Mans watch. It is the Casio A168-W1. This watch is extremely affordable and costs between $19 - $25.

It’s a little bit shocking to see that he wears an affordable watch while he’s in charge of an extremely high priced game. You’d imagine he would have a high priced watch to go along with his gig. It’s possible that a this is indicative of the fact that he’s not benefiting from the money brought in from running squid game.

Sydney Prescott's Watch in Scream 2

unknown.png

Scream is one of the greatest horror movies ever. Scream 2 isn’t as good, but it’s pretty good. I was rewatching it today and there was a nice closeup of a watch. After a quick bit of research I believe that this is the TAG Heuer 2000 Generation 2 which was released in 1995. I believe the model of this is the WK1211.

I found this on Calibre11 here: https://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-2000-series/

Rajesh Koothrappali's Watch in The Big Bang Theory

IMG_3033.jpg

In the tv show The Big Bang Theory, Rajesh wears the Casio CA53W. This is the classic digital watch that has an alarm and chronograph, but most importantly a calculator. This watch was originally released in 1988 and it seems to be relatively (if not completely unchanged). This watch is so outdated it does not even have any kind of backlight which is available on the Casio F91w which came out 1 year later in 1989.
