Universal Audio Twin X Audio Interface Review / Explained

Today I walkthrough, explain, test and review the Universal Audio Twin X Duo. This is a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with ADAT/SPDIF expansion, two preamps with 65dB of gain, and DSP processing with near 0 latency. You get some great converters and you can record up to 24-bit 192kHz. This thing is an absolute beast if you are a Mac user.

Neumann TLM49 Mic Review / Test

oday I review a vintage inspired, mid forward mic from Neumann, the TLM49. This thing has a very controlled low-end, a bump in the upper mids, and a tame but clear top end. If you’re going for a mid-forward Neumann sound, this thing sounds great.

Avantone Pro CV-12 Tube Mic Review / Test (vs. AT2020, NT1, LCT840, TF51)

Today I review Taylor Swift’s mic, the Avantone CV12 which was used on her voice for the 1989 album. This is an affordable multiple polar pattern tube condenser microphone. If you are looking for an airy top end and rounded mid section, then this mic will offer that for you and do it well.
